Oral Presentation Instructions

PowerPoint Submission Deadline: October 31, 2005 by 10:00 am

1. You will have a 15 minute time slot for your presentation. There will be 5 minutes for questions directly after your presentation. You will not be able to extend your time if you have technical problems during your talk. A technical assistant will be on hand for equipment operation.

2. All visuals must be in PowerPoint format. No other audio-visual medium (e.g., slide, video, or overhead) or software are allowed.

3. Prepare your presentation as a single PowerPoint file to run on an IBM compatible computer with Microsoft Office 2003. This program will run PowerPoint 2003 and all previous versions of PowerPoint. Save your file as a normal PowerPoint file (.ppt). Do not save your file as a PowerPoint Show (.pps) file.

4. All presentations must run on the Windows operating system. Conference computers will run on Windows XP. If at all possible, please create your presentation on the same version of Windows or at least test it on Windows XP before submitting it. Otherwise errors may occur in your presentation at the conference.

5. PowerPoint presentations must be submitted in advance of the conference by 10:00 am, October 31st. Email your PowerPoint presentation to Theresa Qualls at quallst@uwgb.edu. PowerPoint presentations must be smaller than 50 MB. Name your PowerPoint file with the last name of the first author and the day and time of the presentation (e.g., Smith_mon _10:30). (Note: Day and time information will be available on the conference website).

6. If you are unable to submit your presentation by the due date as a result of technical difficulties, special arrangements will need to be made with Theresa Qualls: (920) 465-5031 or quallst@uwgb.edu.

7. Bring one copy of your presentation to the conference on a CD-ROM or USB media storage device. This copy is to be used as a backup by you and the session technician if needed. Make sure the CD-ROM or presentation file is properly labeled with your name, presentation day, and time.

8. Conference organizers will load all presentations on conference computers. Presenters will NOT be allowed to use their own laptop computers. MacIntosh computers will NOT be available.

9. All presenters will be given the opportunity to check their presentations on-site, before their presentation time. There will be a preview room available and presentations may be viewed in the appropriate session room during breaks.

Poster Intructions

Posters should be printed in landscape format on a single page measuring no more than 36” x 56”.  Easels, foam boards and clips will be available on loan.  Otherwise you may pre-mount your presentation on your own foam board. The content of each poster should be clearly divided into sections:  introduction, objectives, methods, results, discussion, and conclusions.

Poster papers should remain on display for the entire conference and may be set up beginning at 7:30 AM on Nov. 2 in the KI Convention Center Lobby.  At least one of the authors is expected to remain with their poster during the evening poster session and reception on November 2.
