Instructions for Oral Presentations

 
1.                   You will have a 15 minute time slot for your presentation. There will be 5 minutes for questions directly after your presentation. You will not be able to extend your time if you have technical problems during your talk. A technical assistant will be on hand for equipment operation.
 
2.                   All visuals must be in PowerPoint format. No other audio-visual medium (e.g., slide, video, or overhead) or software is allowed.
 
3.                   Prepare your presentation as a single PowerPoint file to run on an IBM compatible computer with Microsoft Office 2007. This program will run PowerPoint 2007 and all previous versions of PowerPoint. Save your file as a normal PowerPoint file (.ppt or .pptx). Do not save your file as a PowerPoint Show (.pps) file. All presentations must run on the Windows operating system. Conference computers will run on Windows XP. 
 
4.                   PowerPoint presentations must be submitted in advance of the conference by 5:00 pm, Friday, September 25th. Email your PowerPoint presentation to Theresa Qualls at quallst@uwgb.edu. PowerPoint presentations must be smaller than 20 MB, the size limit our email will accept. Please contact me if you having trouble with this size limitation and we can make alternate arrangements. Name your PowerPoint file with the last name of the first author and the day and time of the presentation (e.g., Smith_tues _1:20). (Note: Day and time information is available on the conference website).
 
5.                   If you are unable to submit your presentation by the due date as a result of technical difficulties, special arrangements will need to be made with Theresa Qualls at quallst@uwgb.edu.
 
6.                   Bring one copy of your presentation to the conference on a USB media storage device. This copy is to be used as a backup by you and the session technician if needed. Make sure the presentation file is properly labeled with your name, presentation day, and time.
 
7.                   Conference organizers will load all presentations on conference computers.  Presenters will NOT be allowed to use their own laptop computers. MacIntosh computers will NOT be available.
 
8.                   All presenters will be given the opportunity to check their presentations on-site, before their presentation time. There will be a preview room available (Pere Marquette Room) and presentations may be viewed in the appropriate session room during breaks.

Poster Instructions

 
Posters should be printed in landscape format on a single page measuring no more than 36” x 56” and mounted on a foam core board. A very limited number of easels will be available on loan, on a first-come, first-served basis. You may rent an easel from the hotel for $ 10/day.  If possible, please pre-mount your presentation on your own foam board and bring your own easel. 
 
Poster papers may be set up on the morning of September 29 and should remain on display for the entire conference.  At least one of the authors is expected to remain with their poster during the evening poster session and reception on September 29.
